Account and Data Deletion

Last updated: 1 July 2026

You can delete your GridSentinel account and associated personal information at any time. This page explains how.

Delete your account in the app

The fastest way is directly from the GridSentinel app on your phone:

  1. Open the GridSentinel app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings (bottom nav).
  3. Tap Account.
  4. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your session is revoked immediately. Your account and personal data are removed from our systems as described below.

Delete by email

If you no longer have access to the app (e.g., you've uninstalled it, or your device is unavailable), email us and we will action deletion within 30 days:

Email: hello@gridsentinel.app

Please send from the email address you used to sign in to GridSentinel and include the subject line "Account deletion request". If we cannot verify the request from the email alone, we may ask for additional information before deleting the account.

What's retained, and for how long

A small set of operational records may be retained for a limited period before automatic deletion. These records are kept for auditability, service reliability, abuse prevention, and legal compliance:

Data typeRetention periodReason
Engine decision records (anonymised after account deletion)24 months from creation, then automatically deletedHistorical operational record; no longer linked to your identity after deletion
Minimal deletion record / account tombstone24 months, then automatically deletedRecords that the account was deleted and preserves a non-public reference identifier for audit purposes. It does not include your email address, name, credentials, API keys, battery identifiers, or push tokens.
Application logs30 days, then automatically deletedDebugging and service reliability

If you require earlier deletion of these operational records (including the tombstone and decision logs), email hello@gridsentinel.app and we will purge them on request, subject to any overriding legal obligations.

Your subscription

If you have a paid GridSentinel subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and you must cancel separately through your store account settings to stop further charges. Deleting your account also does not request a refund - refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat holds only a pseudonymous account identifier and your purchase status - no name, email, credentials, or battery data. Because it holds no personal information, the RevenueCat record is not automatically removed when you delete your account. If you would like it erased as well, email hello@gridsentinel.app and we will action it.
